Jennifer obtained a Bachelor of Science (Co-op) in 1997 with honours in Biology & Business Economics from the University of Waterloo. She also held several research positions with Health Canada during her undergraduate studies in the fields of environmental and reproductive toxicology and mutagenesis. During this time at Health Canada, Jennifer participated in the Great Lakes Health Effects Project, developed a fluorescence assay characterizing cytochrome P-450 inducing agents and assisted in mapping a transgene in cancer prone mice.

Following her time in the lab, Jennifer joined a small patent and trademark firm to apply her multi-disciplinary skills and knowledge in the field of patent law. She qualified as a Registered Canadian Patent Agent in 2000, and Registered United States Patent Agent in 2001. Prior to joining Marks & Clerk, Ms. Holly spent six years with a national law firm specializing in biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent matters. She is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) where she previously served on the Biotechnology Legislation Committee, Jennifer is also a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES).

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys practicing yoga, gardening and playing golf.
